Would love some insight on how you went from an HR assistant/coordinator to an HR Generalist. I’ve been in the HR world for 8 years, and only in the last 2-3 have I really done real HR work. The first company I was at didn’t have a solid HR team so I don’t really count that. I feel like I’m ready to take on more responsibility and learn more. And of course make more money.

I have looked into getting SHRM certification. But should I go back to school and get my masters in Hr?

SM @ regional firm with 12+ years of public accounting experience. Promo seems too slow or doesn't exist for someone who does not bring in new clients at my current firm. The partner I work with wants me to dictate everything for the secretary to type. I feel that I am better at typing and more productive typing my work out. I have never dictated anything in my life and don’t think I would be very efficient or effective at it, I also hate the sound of my own voice. He keeps trying to push me into dictating but I want to type my stuff out, I do not think I am that slow at typing my work etc and I am getting assigned tasks done so I do not see a difference.

I'm pro-choice and have been for a long time, but I understand pro-lifers. If you really considered a fetus to be a baby, then you'd see abortion as the same thing as killing a newborn which would obviously be horrible. The main debate is whether or not a fetus is human enough to have rights, which is debateable even by scientists, which is why abortion deadlines are so arbitrary (6 weeks, 15 weeks, etc).
