97k base for me plus 60k base for spouse totaling about 157k household income without bonuses considered
1,520 mortgage (2000 sq ft home 3 bedrooms 2 bath on 2 acres; 15 year loan instead of 30) Purchased for 190k in 2018 at age 27 but now appraised around 300k with the strange housing market.
North Florida Panhandle region
The answer you’re looking for - yes, I want more salary, no, I don’t want to do more than I already am for it, and yes, I want to live in a space bigger than 300 square feet in New York City
Apparently I'm in the wrong thread if everyone here is already well over 6 digits for base. Lol
80 Base. Rent 2300.... Houston Texas
In Houston too. 1Bdrm apt costs 1400-1600 in galleria/heights. Close to all restaurants, nightlife and cheaper than 2k. Hmu if you want a referral 😉

Wait what. Someone from Detroit
I paid $1k/ mon with $76k in Detroit last year.
Was living comfortably, but with car insurance in Detroit being absolutely atrocious + gas prices rising, I wasn’t saving much at all.
Now I live in lansing MI, fully remote role, for $300/mon rent. And $115k
Location will be important also.
I'll go first: SM, Toronto, 200k base, 3200 mortgage
Family base comp of 275k, all in monthly housing cost of $4150
105K base, Charlotte, $1,470 Rent
Nice. I’m in Charlotte too. Spouse and I are about 250k household income, 2000/mo mortgage.
$140,000 salary, Northern VA, rent free at parent’s house.

It was half of a 2 bed 2 bath. Total was $3000
$152k base salary - $0 in rent/mortgage due to living with parents in Chicago burbs.
Goalsssss

I’m looking at these two schools but worried about exit ops:
https://www.hb.se/en/ - library science degree / masters — not sure how I’d fund it

Or this degree with this scholarship if I get it https://www.chalmers.se/en/education/fees-finance/Pages/US-Friends-of-Chalmers-Scholarship.aspx

Yea. And I know it is a terrible financial play, but we refinanced to a 15-year mortgage when rates were at 2.375% back in 2020, so that’s even at an accelerated rate. I just really like the idea of owning the house outright as quickly as possible (despite that money being better invested in the market).
135k base, $1250 mortgage (condo). Dallas, TX
$88,000 salary $9,600 bonus
Rent $1480

Sure! Check out this place called Courts at Preston Oaks. I think it’s fairly nice. But that area in general is solid.
