Do you think Alvarez & Marsal will require employees to get a covid booster shot and/or seasonal flu shot?
Fish Friends, what are the foods and recipes that you've started adopting in the COVID world? I'll start with my super easy flatbread pizza, improvised due to laziness and a lack of yeast and baking materials available. 2 cups of flour and a half cup of water. Add a pinch of salt and a drizzle of olive oil and knead. Then you just roll it out as thin as possible and add whatever you want! Anything! Bacon? Onions? Peppers? Mozzarella? Chuck the whole thing in a 500F oven for like 18-22 min.
This headline is not from February, but today. “I think we’re gonna be very good with the coronavirus. I think that at some point that’s going to, sort of, just disappear — I hope,”. -Donald Trump
How to set boundaries at work with the Covid campaigns? We’re already working long hours during the week. I really can’t take this on the weekends too. I know you’re supposed to ‘save your job’ but...
In case you’ve put off getting a vaccine because you’re too busy to leave the house, any New York City resident 12 and older can now request a Covid vaccine at home. https://forms.cityofnewyork.us/f/home
Recommendations for travel destinations in the US at the end of October / early November? I have a few weeks between jobs, concerned about getting Covid in another country and not being able to come back on time. I don’t want to do hiking or national parks as I’m a young woman traveling alone and don’t think I would enjoy lots of hiking by myself. Am vaccinated
Are virtual therapy sessions as effective as in person? I’ve never been to therapy but want to work on my anger issues because they’re only becoming worse as the Stress from life and Covid become worse. Has anyone started therapy virtually through the pandemic?
What is your firm doing to boost internal networking? How have you been meeting people within your firm but outside of your service line since covid started? Anything in particular you think works?
Moms, I have a 2 year old and a 3 month old. Everyone on my family is vaccinated. What are safe activities to do with these kiddos in the midst of all this covid variant environment. I thought about the pumpkin patch, hiking, the park, and walks as long as we distance from others. I just get nervous about catching colds or a breakthrough covid infection. I’m not paranoid, just risk averse. The whole family got the TSV bug a month ago, and it was miserable. Just trying to be practical, but not a
Long post alert. Also, confusing post alert haha. So, I'm going to be divorced in the next few months and have 2 kids who'll be with me. Ever since this situation has been finalized, I'm becoming very conscious of our spend & have been tight about it. Covid has helped. But I noticed that even my grocery store bills are pretty high...like a single run to Meijer is $125+. Costco is like $200 or so. We've always had fresh fruits, nuts liberally used in our house. [Cont'd]
Since the start of the pandemic, I have been fairly safe and really haven’t gone anywhere (I think I went to TJ Maxx once in a moment of weakness lol). My family on the other hand hasn’t taken any precautions and actually did contract COVID. They keep telling me I’m paranoid and need to start going out but with COVID being worse now than it was back in March, I rather just not. I just want them off my back and wish they would respect my decision to not expose myself like I respected them.
Taking vacation days and turns out it’s actually good timing because I’ve begun getting very anxious and emotional about Coronavirus and being alone in quarantine. I had been doing fine, but (1/..)
Protests scared coronavirus away!
Anyone wonders what happens if you are working in US as non resident alien and got COVID19? Nobody is going to care? 😕
People who had covid: Are you out dating as normal and not telling people you had covid? People who haven’t had covid: Are you willing to date people who had covid ?
We’ve only been in person for two weeks and there’s already classes being quarantined because of COVID... so who’s idea was this to come back? Kinda feeling the need to say “I told you so”. 🙄
I'm starting a new position Monday and it will be 100% WFH. How do you all dress for WFH positions typically? I know I won't be making appearances daily but after working in an office setting for the last 11 years (even throughout the entirety of covid), this is very new for me. Also, any other tips you have are more than welcome! TIA
I’m in trading operations. I graduated during COVID and it has been my ultimate goal to become a trader. I know it’s insanely difficult to pivot from back office to trading but I would welcome any advice on making that transition.
Looking at the way people are laid off, utilization is just one part of it. It's so hard to pin point what is (proper consultants let go from projects, etc..)
Any salesforce implementation group in healthcare and life sciences hiring? My wife is actively looking. Prior work experience working at big 4. Due to visa reasons she had to leave.
I refuse to get my CISSP. I don't believe it's a valid certification to show competency in cyber security.
How is the wlb at A&M MAS? Not expecting it to be a 9-5 by any means but want to make sure I’m not stepping into some crazy culture. Any insight would be helpful.
Planning to quarantine w my SO in a cabin for a bit, but it doesn’t have internet and they want to charge us an obscene amount to install it. Does anyone have any portable internet solutions that can handle zoom calls, etc?
Hi Tax Bowlers, I'm an experienced associate (2yrs) in a Big 4 Transfer Pricing division. I have reached a point in my career where I am considering taking up a professional certification. Several colleagues recommended taking up either ACCA or CFA, however, I see little connection between these certifications and the work that I am currently doing, and what I plan to do in the future. What would you guys suggest? Would it be detrimental to my career if I did not take up any certifications?
With hotels and airlines struggling, do people think credit card travel perks/bonus points/reward systems will change post pandemic? Additionally, does anyone have and is satisfied with the amex hilton aspire card? Thinking of adding this to the wallet once travel opens up.
I’m starting a new ECD job in two weeks. Feeling like an imposter. What do i need to do that’s different than being a CD? (The CCO is very involved so it’s probably closer to a GCD in role)
My HR rep told me that to apply for your CPA license in MA you only need 1 year of work experience, not 2009 billable hours. Didn't sound right- can anyone confirm/deny?
Hi Eric, thanks so much for taking the time to do this! I used to be a manager at MBB, recently went to industry and don’t like it. How difficult is it in your view to boomerang back to consulting?
What should be the next certification that I should get? I have the CFE. I’m targeting the CFCS and the ACAMS as the next ones that I should get. Any thoughts on which one I should get 1st? Pros/Cons

GPS people - Can I get per diem for the weekend if I stay at the client location over the weekend instead of flying back to home. I won’t be needing to expense the Hotel or rental car.
What are people hearing at the local levels for spending and tax policy changes due to covid related budget deficits?
Is copy that’s been approved by a client fair game for them to use anywhere? It was only supposed to be for print and now it’s showing up all over their social. Don’t get me wrong.. I’m excited but
I’m currently a Big 4 GPS C with 2 YOE. What’s the minimum TC % increase you would take if you moved to an industry Strategy & Ops role? Additional context: Move would be DC > Austin Currently making $88k
I’ve been on a couple dates with a guy and we got ~physical~ on the second date. Third date is this week but due to COVID reasons I want to know if he’s seeing other people... what’s the best way to ask without thoroughly freaking him out? Usually I wouldn’t care this early but I feel like I need to be aware of his “germ pool” 😂
when I got laid off couple of months back, one of the leadership I worked closely with for couple of years said that my skills are not right for the xyz firm and that I should take it - contd
