Can we talk about the failure that is vision 2020? I dunno about yalls office , but here in the south. We've had employees laid off , list multiple clients , and are now trying to pass stuff to India

Totally agree. In southwest we have tons of unassigned staff and even some seniors. Some of the staff are performance related but he seniors are all 3/4s. There's just no clients. Also, I'm a bit over the whole margin focus. We're fixed cost, maybe stop over hiring... And nearly everything I get back (and other teams) from GDS is junk. I'll spend 2 hours writing great instructions, then they just don't read them. I'll show them in the instructions where I said what to do and they just say we did not understand. At least US staff will usually ask when they don't understand instead of just going rogue

Vision 2020 is the reason I didn't join EY during recruiting a few years back. No way you get to 50b and no way you try to double that quickly without major growing pains.

We had a Deloitte all hands meeting. Pretty much bragging on snatching EY clients in the southwest. Sounds like from what you guys are saying there's mass layoffs coming to EY. Time to look at industry ?

Vision 2020 fail. Same on my team, tons of unassigned staff, no actual plan from leadership to get them utilized. The solution? hire hire hire! No members of leadership in my group are interested in developing people either. They just bicker and play politics to stoke their egos. It's a sinking ship and is going to come with major repercussions later on, probably in the form of mass layoffs. My group also is entirely hiring the wrong candidates because the ideal are rare and we have this "need" and must meet hiring goals. Average utilization is <40%. It's like a third of the group is >100%, and the ridiculous political atmosphere ensure that the under-utilized people don't get put in projects and the over-utilized work too much. There is a large group of the latter group that is fed up and will probably start leaving droves. I hope my groups leadership wakes the fuck up and stops being so petty.

Sounds like Deloitte.

Yeah man. I'll def jump ship before 2020 don't want to be here when that dumpster fire happens.

like

@EY2, it's not exactly how you took it. Part of the group is very, very busy. The rest is sorta dead weight. I wish it weren't so, but they keep hiring warm bodies to meet hiring goals and there is a marked lack of leaders at the leadership level.

Def no layoffs happening at FSO southwest. What industry are these layoffs coming from?
