Anybody know any remote reinsurance roles?
I have an AINS and P&C agent license. Anytime someone asks me to get other designations, first I ask 1) will the company pay or reimburse me for them and 2) will you be compensated more for having one over another? If the first answer is Yes get whatever you want. But I’ve never had anyone tell me one designation over another would help me earn a better compensation, promotion , etc. My old boss with a CPCU told me not to bother with it because designations don’t matter much anymore. Just express your interest in moving to Underwriting and ask what you can do to start learning the role.
I currently have 2 interviews for a underwriting position and one offer on the table. I do not have any designations but I took free mini courses on CPCU and AU and I used that to upsell myself in my interviews and on my resume.
I'll look into it. Thanks!
Hello it's great that you're thinking ahead in terms of what you need to get where you what. I would suggest getting your c i p and then your CRM or at least be in the process of pursuing one of them as you apply to company underwriting roles. I would suggest cip first though :). Hope this helps !
It’s more about the networking opportunities for me. It’s mostly an aging club, but I’ve found many great mentors - and have been able to practice leading projects, planning events, and public speaking.
For UW nothing is better than CPCU. AU is a good start. CIC is more valuable in the broker side but CPCU is by far more valuable if you want to be a carrier UW
