IRS will charge you a hefty enough fee to put it on a card that it wipes out any bonus value. Also a lot of cards now might consider that a cash withdrawal and charge you a fee.
Fee is like 1.95%. I use my 2% Cashback card to pay or if going for a bonus, I use that card (eg Hilton surpass with free night @15k spend a year).
Offer to pay that amount to a family member through a non cash purchase if they’re open to it. Then they can give you the cash to deal with taxes.
No … find something they want to buy, buy it on credit, and have them pay you cash.
I pay my remaining income tax due with credit cards. The fee for one of the services is 1.87%. If I don’t have a sign up bonus that beats 2.6%, then I’ll use my Bank of America credit card for the 2.62% back. I’m still saving a bit.
I’ve done this and haven’t been charged any cash advance fee. Here’s an article on how to do it and the cost of the payment, generally around 2%.

I generally use a CC for my all of my taxes - Federal, State income, and state property tax. The fee is usually a little north of 2%, so most of the time I’m breaking even on the points earning.
It’s a great way to quickly earn any sign up bonuses though.
