I work out every day, typically between 30-70 minutes (sometimes even 2-a-days) mixing in cardio/weight training/hybrid and have been doing so for the past 3 years consistently. Additionally, I eat minimal/no gluten (sensitivity) and absolutely no dairy (allergy) yet can’t seem to lose weight. Granted, with my clothes on, I feel like I look fine, but feel as if something is missing. Any advice or am I being too hard on myself ?

Has anyone ever left finance (or know someone that has) to do something completely different? My experience is split between FP&A and accounting and while I have progressed, I am becoming depressed b/c I feel like I’m in the wrong field. I know I just sound like a complainer, but does anyone have any advice?

Should we be willing to accept a paycut when exiting to the buy side from IB?
I am currently an A3 with good prospects to become an associate next year which would translate into £100k/year. I have been interviewing to buy-side firms in the UK and they all are offering me between £70-80k for my level of experience. I understand that there is more visibility on bonus / job security / carry, but was this lower salary the case before? Did PE fail to adjust to the IB payrises last year?

Been with my current company 5 years now. I run my own team but have a micromanaging boss who likes to create chaos for me. He also exhibits stalker like behavior by looking up my family online (addresses, emails, phone numbers, FB/Twitter accounts, you name it) and driving by my house and commenting on things I was doing during the weekend or after work. I am fed up with it and am starting to apply elsewhere. I don’t think I’ll be able to get the same total comp though. More in comments..

Dilemma… I left my old company 4 months ago. Today, they’ve reached out to me to ask me to come back at a higher role, Operations Manager. I would’ve jumped on this opportunity if they asked me before. However, this role would be hybrid (2x in office) and come along with more responsibilities and hours than my current WFH role which is very chill. The pay is only 15% more than I currently make. Any thoughts?

Pros to EJ: Have my own office, a year or two away from partnership, great office setting and client satisfaction.

Pros to Merrill: Bump in compensation, additional tools and services w banking, ability to take over assets.
