Hi, I have an interview at BCG DV next week for the “Venture architect” role.
Any insight on the role (beyond the job description on the website)?
Also, does the interviewing process include case interview questions like in “regular” BCG strategy consulting interviews? Thanks in advance! BCG Digital Ventures
I'm having the last loop interviews with Amazon for an analyst position, but I'm realizing that it might not be the right place for me, I'm currently working at hpe and have a good balance, 11+ YOE, I'm not sure if it's really worth the effort. Can someone tell me about what level sales ops analyst job might be? I looked for range salaries and it looks like it is 55k for Germany, so not really much of what I'm earning now.
I read bad comments about the culture and the workload balance.

Need some advice here.I am a fullstack developer with 5 yoe in Angular and Python. My aim is to crack FAANG companies. Now I got an offer from HSBC in a credit risk model monitoring role using Python. It is close to a data engineer role.
My question is that will it be a good idea to shift from development role to a model monitoring role if I want to move to FAANG in the future even for an ML role?Or does FAANG not prefer people who are not in core development roles?Amazon Google Microsoft Adobe Citi Barclays Bank of America

I try to sell myself well while also being honest. If they ask me about something I'm not well-versed in, I might say something like, "I don't have any experience (or I only have minimal experience) with X, but it's one of the reasons I'm really excited about this position because..."
Always say willing to learn or interested in an spect and do some research or inquire more questions into the task you don’t know in the interview ;)
Just like selling anything, there's a good deal of puffery involved. That's the name of the game, really.
I quickly sift through Glassdoor/talk to peers before applying for an organization or responding to an interview request.
Creating a faux personality during an interview doesn’t work for me, so I’m selective about the organizations I converse with.
I’ve personally never had a sour experience with my honesty working against me.
I took a sabbatical/break after hitting the 4-year mark and travelled for 7-8 months. I was expecting a flurry of questions and a negative response to the whole thing when I looked for my next job, but everyone I talked to seemed curious and excited to know what I had been up to.
Target organizations that you’d be aligned to.
The only sour experiences I’ve had comprised of organizations cold calling me out of the blue, and asking ludicrous questions before understanding if I’m even interested in their roles.
Travel is something everyone finds intriguing, especially now :)
It's possible, but yes, you're probably more likely to get hired if you appear to meet all of their expectations and requirements. Finding that perfect job/employee match isn't an easy thing.
There’s no such thing as perfect match - a percentage of maybe 🤔
I try my best to be as genuine as possible with these interviews so that I'm a good culture fit
I would hope people are being honest in their interviews! I mean, I understand candidates often filter themselves a bit in order to make the best possible appearance, but yes a big part of the interview is sensing whether there's a "fit" and that fit is best guaged with authenticity.
I am authentic and fit is personal
You not only can be honest but should. Presenting yourself as something you are not - whether that be as a personality or having certain experience - only opens you up to trouble down the road. Having said that, you want to be your best self in the interview, just not a false self.
Whatever happened to fake it until you make it?
Stat: men apply to roles with only 60% requirements matching their skill sets vs women who strive for that 100%.
So how does one score the job ? You have to sell and market yourself in at least knowing a little of what you don’t just so you get through the intense recruitment processes today.
