Agree with B1. You can raise your hand and get on pro bono cases though (no pay cut or anything). I have a few colleagues who have been able to do this a few times.
We do not do much government work, at least in my market.
You can also extern at Bridgespan for six months to do social impact consulting there.

Certainly not in most regions. We do very little pure public sector work. You can't specialize in social impact as those projects are very competitive to get on but we are very closely affiliated with The Bridgespan Group which is purely socially focused work. Plenty of people have done rotations through there or left Bain for Bridgespan without entirely leaving the Bain network.
Yep, but I believe it's a selective process and requires taking a ~30% pay cut

You can do this at BCG at the associate or consultant level and no pay cut.
