Your salary and bonus is probably 20-30% of your charge-out rate (if you are 100% billable outside vacations etc). So from a business perspective, someone with 30% utilization is a big loss. Guess that gives you an answer?
How long would it take the firm to realize and lay you off? I’m guessing you might be able to cruise at this rate for 12-18 months?
Fired or laid off? Definitely latter, but not sure about former unless you’ve been refusing work.
30% is really low
More like 12-18 weeks
How do you get to 30%?
This is typically why you get laid off
Depends. Is this your first year? I was on the same boat two years ago and was able to only increase my UT to 60% by year end. Wasnt fired at all but only got an inflationary increase for the following year
I've read that unless you do something really bad, you would be put on a PIP before you're let go for below average performance, such as low utilization.
^i know a lot of colleagues who have been let go for low util.
I’ve never met a single person who was pip’d for utilization
Same as P3, know someone let go for low util. Maybe PwC thing?
