My H1B 60 day timer to find a job is running out. I still have 2 years on my OPT left. Does that mean I get to stay for another 60 days after this 60days runs out? For that do I have to apply for an EAD? Should I contact my school? What am I supposed to do until I find a new job? Please help. I’m just 2 years into my career and very lost and scared right now.

In 4 days, I will be completing 60 days of my lay-off from Deloitte. But, I am not at all worried, and taking time to ensure I get on right team/opportunity, which takes my career ahead.

Why can I afford to to so? Coz, I am not on stupid H1B, and just became Canadian citizen 2 months before this pandemic started. Seems like all those 7 years of wait ( i used to call it jail term here due to limited opportunities) was totally worth it in terms of stability it brings.

H1- i40 question: I have 16months on my h1b(2nd). I am in the middle of my Perm application (recruitment stage). If I wait for the process to complete and then move companies they need to restart the Perm process. With only few months remaining at new company the new perm application will not complete before my h1 ends. Can the new company apply for h1b extension without the new perm process complete, will an approved perm from previous employee allow me to do so?

My fiancé is filing for his GC (has biometrics appointment mid Dec, I140 approved, I485 filed in Nov). We’re planning to get married in June- if he gets his GC before I can be added to his application then does anyone know how long before I get mine? I read somewhere that spouse can be added as dependent anytime before GC is issue to main applicant. TIA
