This is how a lot of people’s brains are wired. It’s way harder to forecast everything when your starting point is a blank canvas. It’s much easier to look at what’s already in front of you and imagine a few new things that tweak it, or make it better. That’s the whole premise of Agile, and while that has become a horribly overused and diluted term that means too many things to too many different people, this specific context is actually where it shines.

I take the “we’re not changing SHIT” approach past a certain point and it deters some people. Others, alas, realize they’re the customer 😢

HCD works. Use wireframes instead of finished code. Conduct usability testing first.
