Can you make a career out of being a scrum master? Or do they usually have other roles as well?

If you wish to move higher up the org and grow in your career, you're going to need to broaden out from just one thing (e.g. scrum) to the bigger problem being solved (e.g. delivering important initiatives in a very volatile environment).

There are plenty of roles that require a long, effective track record at doing the latter.

In fact, there are CEOs who are hired specifically because they're good at solving a specific kind of problem.

If you pair it with a whip and a cotton field, sure. Otherwise no, imo. You've gotta pick up something else.

Hi all!

I have worked in business development for 5 years and quit my work late last year due to personal reasons. I'm now actively looking to get back into work and am considering Luxembourg as an option. Any idea how the job market is w.r.t. non-technical roles(account manager, account executive, etc.) and will companies sponsor visa for such roles??
I am currently based in Madrid where I was last employed.

Would really love to help my lovely sister in law find a job in NYC or CT. Im in biglaw and this is out of my depth a bit. TIA, Happy Holidays!

So I had a first interview this past Friday at a company that I had previously interviewed with and made it to the final round last month. They decided to go with an internal candidate after it came down to me and him. The current role is more senior, and was one I was asked to apply for by the hiring manager, whom I also met with during the last set of interviews. I emailed the recruiter to f/u on Friday and still have not gotten a reply. Should I be concerned?

Any thoughts on finance in P&G or Unilever? Some people says they are mainly marketing / brand companies, so finance is less important (but the ceo is a finance person in P&G??). Also, many people say that the job is so boring and repetitive.. Actually, I'm planning to move from consulting, mostly because of work-life balance. I'm sure it's more boring, but I think it's not a bad opportunity. What are your thoughts?

How do you know when it’s best to stay in your position?

I’m tired of pivoting. I feel like my job has growth potential and I like my company. Also it seems like my company places a lot of emphasis on experience and I can only get that with time.

On the other hand I work on a small team and there is definitely room for improvement. I think the issue is the size of the team? Like, if there were 2-3 more people it wouldn’t be too bad.

I’m conflicted. Thoughts?
