Can any EY Partner explain what does equity mean for Partners? Only thing I know is that you have to invest 30% of your salary in equity and you get get loan (upto $450K). My questions: 1) do you need to invest 30% of your salary every year or only for certain years after getting promoted 2) Is 30% fixed or can you invest more than 30% 3) what do you get out of investing this 30%, I mean what does owning equity mean and how does it benefit Partner

Hard to digest: during 2000-2001 .com bubble, overall there were 107K layoffs (yes, then the tech staff was less compared to today). But in just Q4 2022, there have been 120K lay offs so far and looks like it’s just the beginning.
