If you are starting as an Audit Associate some time from now with Deloitte or any of the big 4, do they expect you to have passed/completed all 4 parts by the time you start? Received the Becker Reimbursement email from the recruiter not too long ago but have yet to start. I’ve seen plenty of people get to Senior at a big 4 firm without the CPA so I am a bit confused in that aspect. Any helpful feedback will be very much appreciated.

I would highly recommend speaking to a Partner or your Market Team Leader first. Work out a plan of how much time you need off as unpaid leave. How does that align with your career progression goals etc. create a plan with their input and then go to HR, facilitated by your Partner or MTL. It will be a lot smoother! Also - do not be stressed. Its your life and choices you make for yourself are just as important as your career goals and the firm’s need for retaining good talent. Good luck! :)
It can be accommodated in limited appropriate circumstances, but should be discussed with the HR Partner. The short answer is that it’s frowned upon to take advantage of all of the Firm’s benefits during paternity leave just to quit the Firm at the end of the period receiving all of the benefits. If you have a new situation that truly requires you to take a leave, talk with the HR Partner
Check the policy manual....it should be there.
One male manager in my group took paternity leave and gave his notice about two weeks before the return date.
Is there any clause in your contract or agreement to that effect?
D1- I don't see that in my contract though. Where did you hear this?
Look into the fine print of the sabbatical/ leave
Experienced a manager quitting right after maternity leave. She came back to clean out and transition. If you want a break for a year, talk to the partner and HR. I'm pretty sure there's a way to take more time off unpaid.
Are we just making stuff up? No such thing as a policy manual on kcurve
Thanks Partner. Very helpful. Definitely have a situation going on.
That’s just risky EY2. They could easily have shown him the door and he’d be out 2 weeks of free money. If you are going to do it, you gotta at least wait until you are back to put your two weeks in imo.
I’ve heard you have to go back to work for about month if not you may forfeit your paid leave.
Where is the fine print?? Thanks
I can't go back for a year
You can take unpaid leave, 6 months is the max I think. Check on myKcurve about leave details / find print.
PwC 1- thanks for the pointers but I have checks my kcurve. It says nothing about consequences of quitting after parental leave. I need at least a year break. It could be more
Just ask HR
Sorry I'm not from pwc....at kpmg we have a policy center where we can look up policies for everything. Or you can just email hr.
Wow really OP?
Historically I've seen people come back for one day, charge a full day then hand in a resignation. Meanwhile, they've already secured their next job.
