I have been working with a PEO for the last three years and it has been amazing! It is great to have them as a resource / partner in supporting the HR Department especially because I am a department of one. It has made it easier for all employees to access all their information in one platform (e.g benefits, paychecks, tax forms, policies, time card /time off system). It has also given our company the opportunity to be able to offer a great range of benefits to our employees no matter their location in the US.

This is really helpful information. Thank you for sharing.

I could see how PEO's would be helpful for situations like the one above where the "team" is just one person. Personally, I like that we keep all that stuff in-house so the information I need is always right at my fingertips. Haven't worked with a PEO though, so take my input with a grain of salt.

I've been in PeopleOps (mostly focused on TA Ops) for over 9 years now. I've somehow gotten by without a degree in HR or a certification, but would like to get some more education to continue to advance my career. What are your thoughts on PHR vs SPHR vs SHRM for someone with my years of experience and current role as a manager?

HR / Recruiters specifically - can you guys just please try to be honest with candidates and say its going to be a while before they hear back!! I dont know whats going on but interviewing with several major companies and having to chase down recruiters all day after they say they will follow/up on this or that day and then I dont hear from them for 3-4 days. I am trying to time my interviews/potential offers but they keep getting promises of follow-up on next steps and not hearing back

So, a recruiter gave me feedback that my lack SPHR or SHRM-SCP is causing my resume to be knock out by AI and human recruiters despite my position and work history in Multinationals and being in Technology. They suggested that we put SPHR ( Lapsed). I let it lapse in 2017. What is your opinion? Plus if I were to take another certification - should I take SPHR or SHRM-SCP?

I'm working in a company that I like, but I'm been quite underpaid. We recruited a new recruiter with a salary 25% more than the one I'm in. I've been approached by other companies, but I wouldn't like to leave, the only reason I would consider moving to a new job is the salary. Should I be open and discuss it with my LM? The formal salary review process is approaching in 2 months, but no way I could get a good salary increase in the formal process, I believe the max could be 6%-7%.

Anyone else hit a point where you were ready to leave the HR world too? I did… I acted. Sooo glad. I feel relief, freedom, excitement again! Resigned from an upper level mgmt role last month. Burned out, miss being independent and tired of the HR industry stigma and lack of appreciation at my company.
So I’m leaving it & going into an industry that allows me to be 100% remote, earn 3-5x as much and help others do the same.
Anyone else make this shift or choose self emp?
