Can you still negotiate up your salary after you're notified of promotion and new compensation package?

I love that you think that is even remotely possible.

P5, you're not correct. There were about a third of my folks last year that I had to tell that they weren't getting a raise because they already made more than what their placement in the cohort grid would indicate. There are people this year that aren't getting raises as well for the same reason. As was noted there is no law that you have to be given a raise every year.

like

That for the confirmation P6. I am guessing you are a partner/MD and honesty like this helps provide much needed clarity to several folks..

Happy to help. Agree we should be transparent. Your RP should be as well...cheers

Not unheard of. Extremely unlikely though especially with the new pwc cohort model.

like

I royally pissed off my partner trying to do that last year. I don't recommend trying to do that AT ALL, unless you have a fall back offer from another firm.

like

I feel the cohort model is a scam. It all depends on what pay you got hired at (if you were a lateral hire). I know folks that don't meet the cohort model standards at all.

like

No, your cohort alignment is determined during CRTs, which in turn decides your salary

like

Here's hoping

You can try

Let us know how that works for you.

Not unheard of true - in 10 years I have seen it once, and the guy had an offer from another firm for more $$$. Only way I can see that working

You can not in Advisory any more. The cohort model dictates what your base compensation will be.

If you're outside of the box that you're mapped to, you don't get a raise until the box you're moving to is at a higher value. For example, if you're M1A but make more than a M2A, when you move to M2A, no raise

Untrue. You cannot legally go without giving a zero raise. It might be minimal but you'll definitely get something. Also, bonus is determined as a percentage of your base salary, so if you're at a higher base, you get a much larger bonus.

I joined in January as an SA, but My Rewards summary doesn't show a cohort level or sublevel... wondering if that's because I'm new or outside the box. 🤔 Will definitely be asking during the career outlook discussion.

P5, that's definitely true. I know people that made manager last year on the PwC side and did NOT get a raise because they were already making more than the salary for a M1a. There's no law that states PwC must give you annual raises 🤣🤣

How to let a firm know comp expectations changed due to a raise at the current employer? Gave a firm a range and they offered me a base comp at the low end of my range. Not sure how I feel about this. Thoughts on this? Would expect them to meet me at least in the middle. Current comp is going to be very close to 90k at the end of the year. Initially gave a range of 95 - 110 (when my comp was still in the low 80s). They met me at 95. I have almost 2 YOE. Thanks!

Something that pisses me off is when interviewers don’t read your resume ahead of time. Interview had no idea where I lived or what I did.
