Recent exp with WayFair. I went through 3-4 rounds incl a case interview and panel. I receive an email stating they’re working toward an offer. Pre-mature of me to get excited. WF comes back and asks for 3 references that I provide. Never reaches out and then does a reference check by itself and rejects me stating references don’t provide good feedback. So they trust a reference more than their whole interview process.

As of July 1st my salary in consulting is 120k, 5 YOE and have been here for 3.5 years. I just received an offer at a tech company (not FAANG) that IPOd in 2018 and stock has done very well since. Offer is 102k base, 86k in RSUs with the one year cliff, additional grants are given every February, and according to them a 15% bonus of my salary is a guarantee (it’s paid out quarterly too). I am pretty ready to take this offer given several other circumstances. Anyone think I’d be nuts?

Debating a new job and was told I could expect RSUs ranging from $40-60K on an annual basis. When I asked for this to be written in the offer letter, I was told that because it is a “discretionary grant that is not contractual” it would not be in there. I was also told that my role qualifies for these grants by my new potential boss. Is this normal/standard?
