Alvarez & Marsal How does comp work at Alvarez & Marsal? I know bonus is based on utilization / collections, but how does that really work when you're executing against a SOW with a certain amount of hours budgeted. If I'm only budgeted at 70%, how do you increase your utilization to increase your bonus.
Why did you go into accounting? I’m a few years into this profession (been in both audit and industry) before I realized there are so many other great career options besides accounting. So curious
Recent exp with WayFair. I went through 3-4 rounds incl a case interview and panel. I receive an email stating they’re working toward an offer. Pre-mature of me to get excited. WF comes back and asks for 3 references that I provide. Never reaches out and then does a reference check by itself and rejects me stating references don’t provide good feedback. So they trust a reference more than their whole interview process.
Hi ME fishes! Does anyone know how BCG and McKinsey are doing in the ME with the COVID situation? Are there more CTL than usual? If you have the choice to stay in the US or go to the ME, what would you do?

A team of 2 starting a very niche consulting firm want me to join and lead the first engagement. I’m very confident in them & the product/market fit. Do I ask for an ownership stake?

Anybody know how to compare comp for internal services vs consulting / talent exchange at PWC?
As of July 1st my salary in consulting is 120k, 5 YOE and have been here for 3.5 years. I just received an offer at a tech company (not FAANG) that IPOd in 2018 and stock has done very well since. Offer is 102k base, 86k in RSUs with the one year cliff, additional grants are given every February, and according to them a 15% bonus of my salary is a guarantee (it’s paid out quarterly too). I am pretty ready to take this offer given several other circumstances. Anyone think I’d be nuts?
How can I calculate the value of the 401k itself? New company is a startup and doesn’t have one yet so would like a $ value to negotiate with.

Debating a new job and was told I could expect RSUs ranging from $40-60K on an annual basis. When I asked for this to be written in the offer letter, I was told that because it is a “discretionary grant that is not contractual” it would not be in there. I was also told that my role qualifies for these grants by my new potential boss. Is this normal/standard?
