I left EY 30 days ago... I have the opportunity to receive a lump sum from my pension plan. roughly $100,000 payout or I can keep it in there and my monthly payments will be 500 (single life) upon retirement. 

should I take the lump sum and invested in an index fund?

LTI -Appeared for LTI L1 round on 9th july. The panel even clearly told he is recommending my name for Next round. What is the process they follow and generally how much time HR take to keep L2 ? I tried calling hr n dropped a mail too but no response.

Recently got my H1B approval mail from the companies law firm. What is the time frame to go to my home country and get the passport stamped ?

Approved i140 on H1B as software consultant -> change to F1 to pursue MBA -> transition to H1B post-graduation but work in a different stream say investment banking. In this case would one be able to maintain the i140 & change occupation to a different stream? Has anyone does this?

Laid off, H1-B, 60 days grace period - worst case, no new employer within 60 days, would you recommend going back to the home country and search for US opportunities from there and not waste money by filing B2 and living on own here? Looking for some advice. I am currently going through a work based green card sponsorship. The company kicked off the process in January this year. EVL was submitted in June and still no response. I believe once the EVL is approved they will initiate the PERM process. Does anybody know how much more is left in the process until I get the green card? I believe from what I’ve heard I may have to wait for another 12-18 months. Can anyone confirm?
