I'm an engineer and I love building things but based on what I've seen about Gen Z, I think I'm going to raise my kids in a less modern style. No TV, no internet, at least until a certain age.

I am a regional controller for a hospitality group. I began looking for a job in a different industry, but have hit some roadblocks with trying to communicate transferable skills and management style (decentralized). Any recommendations?

How are lateral hires done at MBBs for more junior roles (i.e. senior analyst or junior/senior associate)? So my tattoo artist basically scammed me out of some money. I put a deposit down and the day of the tattoo he had to cancel because his daughter got sick. He’s not replying to my texts. And it’s not like this guy is a stranger, I have 20+ hours of work done by him. I paid via Apple Pay. I don’t live in the same city as the artist and don’t know when I’ll be back to that city. I prefer working this way, and at my previous job I had flex work where I could work in and out of the office on days of my choosing. How do I speak to my manager and ask to keep working from home or at least negotiate a flex work schedule?

Why is the working system built in a way that forces children to be raised on their own? Why has this not changed to accommodate our current circumstances (working men and women)?
