Car buying question - financing a used car (personal preference) - got a ridiculous monthly quote and down payment at dealership then got a quote more inline with my needs online via prequalification - can I go back with this? Will they honor it or will I look stupid for not knowing to do this first?

Definitely go back

Don't finance a car, especially a used one for more than 60mo. Ideally you shouldn't go over 48mo.

OP, if you haven’t figured it out yet, your vehicle choice is terrible and terms are terrible. Please reflect.

At $400/month you can lease a brand new fully loaded suv that’s under warranty. That 2017 is likely to cost you a few grand more as it’s just off it’s warranty period.

Haha glad I could help. Good luck

Go back for sure, maybe see if they'll do better.

Don't feel stupid at all, selling used cars is stereotypically the most shameless job in the world. Negotiating (or not negotiating) on emotion is how those guys really profit, with the high-pressure and deceit and all.

Looks like they're giving you a deal just short of the Marine special. 2019 Mustang, 84 month lease, 13.5% APR, but 0 down!!! Why buy a car for $35k when you can finance it and pay $54k for it in just 7 years!

I remember when I first started working on my thesis project. My adviser asked me to get some funding for it, but he didn't give me any advice about how to do that. He just told me that if I wanted money for my project, I'd have to go through some kind of committee process and submit an application for funding from them. Sure enough, after weeks of writing applications and waiting around for responses from the committee members (who were always too busy), I eventually got approved for funding!

Has your firm gone woke? My leadership is consumed by virtue signaling and social justice to the point where nothing else (even our business) seems to matter. More importantly, they seem oblivious to the fact that not everyone shares their woke sensibilities and they’ve said some highly divisive and offensive things. There is no vehicle for dissent. Thinking of leaving a firm I’ve dedicated my life to as a result. It’s a sad realization.

How to rebalance my portfolio? I bought a majority of my investments in the worst market conditions in 2020 and so maybe I’m just jaded by my own previous success/luck with that. Should I be selling off the non - etf stocks at some point? Or do you just hold those for ever if they don’t go to shit (e.g. should have sold off my PLTR a long time ago but since i was mostly just playing there i have held) ? When to get out? How to tell if you’ve held long enough to avoid short term cap gains?
