Have Audi Q5 and love it. A bit biased but happy customer. Superior electronics inside
Go for new Audis. Love their designs
BMW, can never go wrong
Will a used Q5 be a good choice? I heard Audi involves lot of maintenance

Go for the most upgrade version - prestige or Sq5 for a superior experience
Whatever you get, if you’re considering used, get certified pre-owned because they tend to give you additional warranties. And can’t go wrong with any of those or a Tesla. Depends on what you like. If you like driving/the pull of the engine, BMW is key. If you like nice interiors, Audi or Mercedes’ are usually better. Just test drive all of them
I would go for a BMW X3/X5 if I had the money. Ride quality and cabin noice reduction is unmatched. MDX if don’t wanna spend as much and need 7/8 seats. Never really likes Audi. Too Volkswagenish. Hi infinity is most bang for the buck.

We have an MDX and have been happy with it. We can actually use the third row - we found that a lot of third rows are really crammed.
We had a BMW X3 before and we have spent a lot less on maintenance with the MDX.
Cars are really a preference, I recommend you test drive a couple different makes - every brand and model drives different!

Owned 2 MDXs no complaints

Apples and oranges car choices, but in those:
Q5: Small, but preppy drive, plus I like the Audi infotainment system (if you go for the upgrade)
MDX: Reliable and large. Decent drive, very old and dated infotainment
X3 / X5: Fantastic cars. If you can afford it go for the X5. No real downside to the BMW, except I think Audi delivers more at comparable price points.
Personally I like to buy 2 yr old cars 30k miles and fully loaded. Not a fan of luxury brands due to maintenance costs and premium fuel costs, and feel in cars like the Telluride, Santa Fe, Atlas, Highlander, Expedition / Explorer one gets creature comforts without the price tag.
