How about — Best representation of one’s thinking and leadership potential.
How do you put "leadership potential" into a portfolio?
Define best. Best work? Best design? Best book concept?
OP that's silly! The best portfolios are the ones with killer work on them. Everything else is just window dressing.
@art director 1 You’ll find out once you make CD.
What I mean is, as you progress in your career, your focus shifts from execution to guiding your team to do great work, putting the right story together to sell that work, and protecting your team from all the BS so they can launch that work with some semblance of the original concept still in tact. So the portfolio becomes less about your own work and more about the body of work you’ve directed.
@OP By the time I'm CD I'll have leadership EXPERIENCE. How do you show the potential to be a leader? I have the skills, I've stepped up in various ways, but those are hard proof points to include in a book.
Sounds like the work in your book might not be that great and you’re trying to make up for it somehow. That could get you hired if the person in charge is not Creative (like a CEO or a Managing Partner). But a seasoned CCO who cares about the work would see past that ruse.
