Her monthly expenses are around $2300 so she could probably just live off the 660K. But she does work so she probably won’t need to dip into her investments.

Guys - just watch the video

She still has an income stream and doesn’t even draw down her investments. Also - that $660k number grew to over $1m due to investment returns

Had a very unpleasant experience with the entire interview process at Paytm. First of all they kept all three rounds in a single day . It started from the morning and ended up till the final round at late evenings. After all the rounds were cleared, the HR asked for the expected package, and when I gave him my quote which was just 35% more than my current CTC, he got reluctant and said we only have a budget of an X amount which was just 10% more than my current CTC. Who on earth does that..?

Men, why ghost women on dating apps even though you showed interest? I matched with a guy on Hinge and he asked me out. We were supposed to meet Thursday night, but I forgot that I had something for work, so suggested a different day. Not only did he not respond, but he also changed the pictures on his profile multiple times, making it obvious that he was on the app/saw my messages! He then unmatched me. Never met him, so obviously not the love of my life, but just genuinely curious.

Do you spread your investments in ETF products that track the same index? IE VOO and SPLG.

Was just thinking the other night if you drop it all (or a large part) in VOO and they have some unheard of scandal that somehow slipped by audit your path to FIRE could be hurting.

Am I overthinking here?

This sounds like a crazy question, but if you have 1MM in working capital invested in the markets at 35 and you are looking at spending 150-200k in retirement. 4-5MM target number.

Serious question - is there a reverse FIRE strategy? I like the idea of saving and retiring early, but the one hiccup I see (and sorry if this is grim) is if you die earlier than expected. I’d be worried that I would minimize lifestyle and fun for retirement at 50 but I’d die at 49. How about a way to work 9 months out of the year and retire/travel/relax for 3 months? This way you guaranteed your dreams/etc. are fulfilled

I’m buying a home! It’s a little tight but here is my monthly cost breakdown ($9k/mo take home):

$3k mortgage
$500 for 15 months for new floors
$210 for 12 months for roof repairs
$300 groceries ($75/week)
$100 eating out
$150 estimated utilities
= $4260

Leftover = $4740

Investment Allocation:
$2k in HYSA
$2.2k in VTI
$540 leftover just in case

Is this a good budget to stick to? Also I may be able to subtract $800-$900 because I’m planning on renting out a room!
