Career Choice: Valuation Consultant vs. International Tax Associate. Pros and Cons ? Which will you prefer ? Exit opportunities?

Valuations for sure. More exit ops and not as pigeonholed imo

like

You should think about what you like to do. A lot of people think valuations can exit into PE or banking but that's not really the case (I'm in valuations). International tax is not my cup of tea but exit ops are tax positions in larger corps. If you like tax, why not do that.

like

A lot of people think this way. I think because we work with a lot of mergers and innovative companies, people think that can translate to PE. With that said, I do have colleagues who went to smaller PE shops so it's not impossible. Equity research is also a possible transition at the sr level but you have to be quite in tune with the markets and thats not necessarily a trait required in valuations.

Hello Fishes,
Just a little weird question, suggestions will be helpful.
My cousin wants to enter into the IT industry but his graduation is from non Tech (B.A). So I have suggested him to persue and MBA in IT or MCA may be from distance learning will also help.
Please give suggestions which will be the most feasible way to enter the IT industry, given that he is financially not much sound but he is very smart and hardworking.

Hello! I’m starting to look for remote Recruiter position and would love to get into the Tech industry. I’ve worked in a fast-paced, full-cycle Recruiter role in Healthcare for the past year and more of an administrative role the year before that. I have my Bachelors degree in Marketing and frequently pick up design projects for our campaigns.

I’d love to chat with anyone regarding this industry change and hear of any leads you may know of! Thank you in advance!!

Has anyone considered opening a franchise? I would love to transition from law to business but have zero experience and am thinking a franchise may be the best option. I wouldn’t have as much control but it would provide a business plan and how to to get out there and get started. Curious if anyone else has considered. I doubt I’ll do it this year during the pandemic but want to start exploring this as an option.
