Career options with good salary progression? I am in an entry level role but not sure I want to continue down this path. I have experience in banking and now I’m studying for my licenses. What are some good options that have good salary progression?

That depends on the company you are working with or which company you are hired to. If you are looking for a career with good salary progression I would suggest that you look for jobs in retail or hospitality industry.

Do you want to stay in finance? What exactly are you interested in doing? Front office / client facing jobs tend to have better salaries, but are not for everyone. Sales / cap intro / IR can make you good money, but also is not for everyone everyone. Roles in risk / credit / treasury can be pretty good for people who don’t want to deal with clients. Did you go to a school good enough to be considered for IB / PE?

Do some real thinking about what it is that you want to do.

I’ve been in strategy (social and Comms) for 8 years — with each move up, I feel myself getting farther and farther away from the creative process, which is my favorite part of my job.

What roles are there that straddle strategy/creative? Is there a way to transition to a creative position — and what does that look like? From everything I’ve seen, it seems like I would have to start over at entry level Copywriter and a lateral move to a comparable Creative position is non-existent?

Hello Fishes!
Please help me choose between Nagarro & ThoughtWorks. They’re both offering almost similar compensation. I am FrontEnd dev with 6 + YoE.
Is Nagarro really providing permanent WFH? Also, they have a policy of sticking with one project for at least 18 months. Not sure about such policies in TW, but they have moved to hybrid work model if i am not wrong. What’s the max TW can offer for my exp? Since there is still some scope of negotiation. Nagarro’s final offer is 27 LPA incl 5% var.

Which company would you join?

I currently work in Sales with the intention of moving over to marketing in the near future. I received two offers for BDR/SDR roles from
Sprout Social and Gong. Both salaries are around the same (Gong - base 63k + anticipated $25k in commission, Sprout - 55k base + anticipated $25k in commission).

I like both companies’ software and it extremely hard to decide which position will get me into marketing faster as it is not a traditional BDR path to take.

Boston SFA 5 years exp (Corporate finance). My research shows 110-120k for comp range. Does that sound right to others here?

I am a registered sales assistant which means I have my series 7. I also have the 63 and my Life & Health license. I was a financial advisor but the role is commission only so I decided to take a role as an assistant for some time to learn etc. I really like my role, but I only make 32k a year and after taxes I only take home about 25k. I have a gut feeling that I’m not being paid market value but it’s tough to find comparable salaries. Do you think $15.38/hr is a fair wage in this case?

I’m look to enter another area of Finance at this point instead of starting over somewhere else from scratch, but not sure what direction to go. Interested in Investment Banking or M&A.

Is anyone else finding it difficult to get a raise this year because of market conditions? I moved from a business analyst role to a management role and didn't get a raise even though I'm taking on significantly more work. The terrible market conditions are what my boss pointed to. Is this happening at other companies also?
