No idea
But next week we’ll be getting the brand new new GUIDANCE_FINAL_v14_FINAL_v3.pptx and I’m sure things will be more clear

Lmao the reference to the common “v14 FINAL.pptx” in our profession as applied to cdc guidance has me rolling. Soooo true
if you are asymptomatic the entire 5 days after testing positive, you can stop isolating, but you should be wearing a mask for the next 5 days. you can still test positive for up to 90 days after the fact
I think P2 is close but not exactly right. It’s if you’re asymptomatic completely after isolating for 5 days from your first symptoms. Not if your asymptomatic during the entire isolation period.
I’d probably go into public spaces but wouldn’t see my family just yet.

Someone from Accenture on a different thread here says it's "reckless". Stay home for 10 more days, or 15 days just to be sure. Best if you suspend all contact until May or June.
What even constitutes “asymptomatic”?
Omicron in particular entails a number of very mild lingering symptoms - scratchy throat (not necessarily sore/inflamed), sniffles, fatigue…are we considering those symptoms for purposes of the isolation clock? Those can last weeks to months, well beyond infectiousness. I can see many people outright not regarding those symptoms as such and starting their clocks earlier.

My understanding is you can test positive for weeks after no longer being contagious. So relying on a negative test after being infected probably isn’t the best. Instead of 5 days, I’m just going to stick with the 10-14 as long as symptoms have stopped. If you are waiting to test negative, you might be waiting for a month or longer.

Here's a good explanation. This came out before the revised guidelines but still applies

So your first positive test was 7 days ago?

Per the county health dept where I live, you can go out of isolation now since you are recovered and it’s been 10 days since your symptoms started.
I would wear a mask if I were you, but I always do
I am unclear on this as well, slightly different situation. Tested positive on the 26th, had symptoms, but are basically gone, so do we only have to isolate until the 30th?
Yeah if you tested positive still today, please don’t go see people
Thanks everyone!
