This was also announced today while Fauci was in surgery and under anesthesia so he couldn’t fight it or weigh in. It was calculated IMO.

Also reportedly heavy pressure from Trump to change testing procedures to keep confirmed cases low. Like most of the civil services, I believe there are still knowledgeable and honest people in the ranks at CDC, but these episodes demonstrate pretty clearly that at least some of the leadership has been corrupted, just like everything he touches. Eventually there will be a purge of his people and we can rebuild but it will take time.

We’re all doomed when politicians take over diagnosis and treatment ...

I've seen a lot of posts around APA and utilisation. Please correct my understanding if I'm wrong. APAs are only for those who have tested +ve or are taking care of family members who have tested +ve and cannot be used for any other situation. If that's true and you/your family have defeated Covid, why the fuss over utilisation? P.S. plz let me know if there's another use of APAs I'm not aware of

Just read the sad news of the death of 1st AD John Nolan. (See wheresspot for thread) While I hope be didn't contract Covid on either of the 2 sets mentioned prior to his illness and death, if it comes back that he did, we need to have a long hard chat about what went wrong. Condolences to his family. Truly horrible news.

How many of you are the only woman at your firm/practice group? I’m at a large firm, but part of a smaller practice group (<10 associates). We have female partners, but I’m the only female associate in our group. I’ve become friends with one of the other associates. Someone recently joked that I’m his “work wife.” This really bothered me. I don’t think of our relationship as romantic at all. This is mostly just a rant, but can we please retire this term?
