Ranges obviously but I generally see between $130k - $175k base

like

175 seems to be very high .

D1’s range sounds about right. Midpoint is around $140-150K base.

like

how long does it take to reach sm assuming you start as a new grad?

Range is massive. 5 years if you’re an all-star, otherwise 7-10 years is more typical.

I am currently working as Senior Consultant in my current firm and just got an offer from Deloitte UK and Version1 for HCM Cloud practice. Version1 pays more (75k basic + quarterly profit share) and has good employee centric policies where else Deloitte has 60k basic + 5100 in flex benefits and no clarity on bonus. The only reason why I wanted Deloitte was for the exposure but is it really worth it? Considering the work life balance may not be as great here as well. Will appreciate any help

Have anyone done contracting negotiations before? I've interviewed for co A & B and co A extended an offer today. The offer does not meet my current salary. Co B's interview structure is 3 rounds and I've finished my 2nd round today. The recruiter mentioned that since I am a contractor my current salary is incomparable as they will provide benefits, etc. Is this true? I have 2 yrs of contracting HR exp from fortunate 500 co’s & OMW to get my SHRM-CP. Appreciate your advice in advance.

If you are not a partner, do any of the Big 4 have a mandatory retirement age? I have a friend who is working in industry and has been approached by a few firms as he has a very desirable technical skill set. He is in his 50's and doesn't want to make a move unless there is some runway to keep working. He basically could work as long as he wants where he is at. The pay increase would be significant for him to jump to but if he is mandatorily forced out in a few years it might not be worth it.

I had an interview with a firm today and they asked about my billable hours and whether I met them. Picking a country to live and work in: my spouse is a Mexican citizen (with US green card) who works in Mexico City, and I'm a US citizen. We want to live together, but my spouse has great career opportunities in tech in MC, and finding a job in the US has been hard. I could likely get a job in MC, but I don't speak Spanish and my income would be much lower. How should we handle the decision of who moves where? We are both looking for tech jobs in the bay area, but we haven't had much success.
