When I was an analyst I would be in charge of ordering lunch. I would order 1 extra on accident and that was my dinner
Oh wowI seriously miss the left over lunch for dinner thing. Can’t wait to travel again.
Registered as a student at my local community college to get student discounts like Spotify, Hulu and Showtime for $5 a month.
This is a good one!
Cutting my toothpaste in half so I can get whatever’s left.
@M7, I honestly don't know. Growing up, any savings was important, but now I do it out of habit and stop being wasteful. My whole mindset is to not waste. My kids pants, I cut them when they get torn in the knees and now they have new shorts. It's also better for the environment.
When we were traveling I used to often expense lunch/dinner at whole foods but also get a couple grocery items so I could throw them in my suitcase and not have to shop that week end.
Basically anything that travels well. Fancy olive oil was a good get. Yes spices too. Sometimes I would even grab those vacuum sealed steak or sausage right before my flight 😂
I save empty toilet paper rolls and sell them in batches of 100 on eBay for $20 for people who do crafts.

I save these too for crafts LOL
I’m so happy to be frugal. Moved in with parents while at $140k.
Use different emails to get Amazon prime trials for free shipping.
I still take the roll of toilet paper out of the office bathroom twice a week 🤷♂️ old habits never die lol
1) you need 3 ply - the Cadillac of toilet paper
2) Still going to the office?

Bought underwear at Target.
You livin' the high life. Ebay those undies!

$250k and I use my parent’s login for NYTimes and Washington Post and my sibling’s login for HBO, Netflix, etc.
There’s cheap, and then there’s theft of IP.
I ask for extra chick fil a sauce and use it for weeks with my home grilled chicken
Have you ever tried it with pretzels? AMAZING
I make over 250 and shop at WalMart and the dollar store for common items. Why waste money?!
If something I bought a while ago goes on a better sale, I will take my stuff back to the store and return and rebuy it for the cheaper amount lol
Literally had a conversation with Amazon about this the other day. ‘This item is still in its return window, so it’s just going to cost you more with free returns and free shipping to make me return and buy it again at the better price...’
Started dating my SO - who also makes about the same as me but is a total cheapskate and refuses to even let me take her on dates.
Oh totally exaggerating. She bought ski passes with me and we spoil each other with gifts (she got me the nice bose gaming headphones, I got her a snowboard). We also gave up our SF apartment and have basically no expenses. She just hates spending money to eat out, but it’s because her parents spoiled her taking her to Michelin restaurants growing up.
I broke up with my girlfriend because it was costing too much money to see her.
Lol JK
I make $150 and recently used duct tape to patch a hole in my running shoes right where the big toe is. I also used a sharpie to make it match
Use plastic/paper bags from the grocery store as garbage/recycling bags instead of buying actual trash bags
Same - plastic bags for bathroom trashcans. Use paper bags for recycling.
- Download fast food apps for coupons. Mcdonalds has some really good daily deals lol ($7 off $20 spent)
- Buy my underwear in those packs that comes in like 5-6 for $10. No bf so no care.
- Use a ton of different emails for free trials on hulu, etc. I've stopped this for a while since I have nice friends that lets me leech now.
- Pay $700/month in rent by having roommates.
Oddly enough, when I'm cheap I can be really cheap. But when I'm spending money, I spend on really stupid crap. Prob spend $200/month just on pampering myself.
Sounds like you’re focused on spending for self care, which is good for mental health.

You could clothe yourself with their receipts.
As you make more money, you learn to value a penny more because of the power a penny has. You do not become cheaper, you become wiser.
Excellent point
Once when I needed a podium for an event my wife was hosting, I was too cheap to buy one so I just stole the one from the house of Congress...
Ive seen you on national TV!
