It depends, do you really like the outdoors and skiing/hiking/mountain activities or do you like city/restaurant/urban activities more? I think it just depends on what you want to do in your free time more/what you like to do outside of work
Denver has lot of mountains. Even if you are not into skiing, Denver can be a good place since on day to day, you will mostly be going to work etc. Chicago is much colder than Denver, I think
Denver is millennial Florida.
Will not explain
If you’re more of an outdoorsy person, Denver. Otherwise, Chicago.
I’d do denver and move to the suburbs. But I love to ski and don’t mind snow. I’m also a Midwest guy, so here I am in the Midwest for family reasons.
Denver is a beautiful place with a lot going for it. However no comparison to Chicago when it comes to anything not related to outdoor recreation. You could put them in the same tier of COL (maybe?) but Chicago is in a different tier of major city with all of the benefits (and detriments) that come with big city life.
Cost of living in Denver will be expensive I will say Chicago!
have been to both and like them. two very different cultures and depends on each persons personal preferences. would say visit both places, stay few days and then decide based on your feeling.
my personal preference would be Denver between those two
Denver.
Chitown. Lake Michigan in the summer with all the beaches! 😌 And then you have Indiana Dunes, plus you can get a lot of smaller cities via train or short drives. Sports town too. Even though teams are wack. Never been to Denver, I’m bias. 😂
Both are great for baseball teams, compare the rock pile to Wrigley both have beautiful scenery both great ball parks I probably have to flip a coin.
Or Broncos versus the Bears, Broncos win every time!!⚾️🏈
Denver hands down! For the weather, tons of sun, the fresh mountain air, the outdoor recreation, better selection of weed, better quality of life. There are plenty of restaurants, bars and lakes nearby in Denver so I don’t see how Chicago has a huge edge there
denver
For me it’s more about the climate and outdoor access than compensation. Denver >>>>>>> if you like to hike, bike, ski. If you are more into big city life than Chi >>>>>>>
Look at the job market in both and see where would look easier to start over in case you’re put in that position. Also look to see how your money will stretch. See the cost of living in both and see where your money will have more value.
Rising Star
Chicago
Denver city wasn’t that impressive in my opinion. Go for Chicago unless you plan on doing adventurous activities outside of Denver.
A city in the middle of a cornfield or a city cradling the Rocky Mountains? I know which one I’d go for.
Yep
Denver if you’re outdoorsy
Chicago is a great city, lived there a few years. But I’ve never been to Denver. Take next week off and go visit! Moving sight unseen is risky?
