I hear investment banking is super chill

P1.. Damn..Chill doesn't equal OP is lazy. Not everyone is into consulting/banking/PE/Tech life. Many reasonable positions post mba that are more friendly to WLB exist.

Why would you want a chill job after getting your MBA? Seems like a poor life choice to go back to school only to set a goal for yourself to become lazy.

LDPs or marketing

Most chill job I had was a finance manager role at UnitedHealth Group. First 5 days actuals, next 5 were forecast, and the rest of the month to do nothing. I had all my reports automated. Unfortunately they don’t pay well.

Is there a version of that job...where they pay more? :)

Hey fam. Appreciate your inputs on this: I used to be a software developer and currently work as a tech risk consultant (CISA, CRISC certified). Have completed a couple of cyber courses but do not have prior cyber experience. Most cyber sec job postings require prior experience in cloud, aws, devops etc. Applied to a couple of roles but no avail. A) Can I start a career in cyber security without prior experience? B) Will CISSP or relevant cyber certifications help?

I’ve been working in the HR space and am interested in pursuing an MBA to transition into Human Capital consulting/ Change management/ Talent technology and analytics. I’ve been seeing a few T30 schools that have a focus in those areas including Vanderbilt, Rice, BYU etc. Would it be better to pursue an MBA program highly ranked in that concentration area or to try to get into a school ranked higher overall? Thanks!

Fish - need help here. I used to work in the research team at McK / Bain (let’s assume one) pre-MBA. My experience here at BCG has not been great and I am looking to move to another consulting firm. The challenge is that the practice area I work in is actually stronger at the other MBB ( not the one I worked pre-MBA). How ridiculous would it be to even apply there? And if accepted, how would it be perceived - having worked at all three. 🤦🏻‍♂️😞 Or should I just continue at BCG or go back to old firm

Can somebody please explain to me why MBB and other top consulting firms are so adamant that you have an MBA? I majored in accounting, finance, and operations management at a top 10 undergrad business school and then got my masters in information systems from the grad school program. I took multiple MBA courses as electives when getting my masters and it seemed like those classes were very basic and easy. Idk if I would learn anything in an MBA program that I hadn’t already learned in undergrad

Is it better to wait until promo before switching to other firms? Applying to MBB but worried that if I get the offer I’ll end up switching right before I get my promo from Deloitte. As someone who has only worked at EY and has no other work experience or “passion,” how do I begin looking? I’m a high performer in CA with a cpa and working in tax but I don’t feel like I have enough time for myself with all the extra work from people leaving during the never ending busy seasons. I’m in my mid twenties and feel like work is my life. I think I’ll be satisfied with six figures for a while, which I’d be pretty close to after my raise in October anyways, and 40 hour work weeks.
