Hi why IBM is focussing on Return to office culture ,as in past years before covid it was known for remote and WFH flexibility. When there is no team ,still single resource is being called at office .What is the use to work from office if you don't have anyone from project ,team building, networking ,anyway it won't develop.IBM

It’s 10000% normal for account team to have changes. They are the voice of the client. However, they NEED to request those changes, never just make them. And you’re allowed to disagree and have a conversation about why.
Actually, I reread your message and feel pretty convinced that you’re right.
Buried in here is another problem, the perception or approach that “account service is the voice of the client“. It shouldn’t have to be that way. Creatives should also have a sense of what their client likes and doesn’t (vs. “THIS IS MY ART!”)...and account service should also be looking out for what you, as an agency, think is the best (creatively AND strategically) work to present, sell, and produce. This all seems very old-school.
Return the favor, occasionally pick up the phone and call the clients on their behalf.
They ain't a fuckin designer.
Account made changes to YOUR work?!?! WHAT?
That really sucks.
That’s not cool. I’m sure you don’t make changes to their, um, emails. If they make changes to creative they need to run it by you.
Update: ECD mandates Accounts to CC her in all emails addressed to me... This is a developing story.
I’m less about concerned being recognized (I highly doubt that) but more concerned about making the work better. Just want to share my experience and see how others deal with it.
Im with him ☝🏼
Or her...
As my ECD once said to me while on the phone, “Gotta go, Account person is here to ruin my day”.
I don’t give a shit whatever they asked
Nice to know the culture at W+K
What sort of changes are they? Definitely flag them with ECD, but if it helps the client they might be good changes.
I’m agreeing that they should know, they should be reviewed/signed-off on. If the person who created the work agrees with the changes or is okay with it, I don’t know if it’s always necessary to go through a layered approach. But a simple cc on an email is just in good faith I think.
In this case, it sounds like there was not alignment between the AE/AD
NO
As long as they CC the creative lead on the project that’s normal. They represent the client and will often times flag things they see as a potential issue. The CD should have final say though, and if you want to ignore their feedback you should be prepared to work with them on a potential message to the clients about why something they wanted isn’t represented. (Unless accounts is making personal edits, than the CD needs to block that shit)
They didn’t CC the creative lead, that’s the thing. It’s as if they wanted me to make the changes without letting the lead know. I talked with my ECD and we came to an agreement to do the changes.
