It means they have other priorities, a family to go home to, a warm meal... whereas many of us go home to an empty apartment. 😐

like

It may look sad from a work standpoint, but it may be they put more importance on family, life outside of work. Who knows they might've been more career-driven earlier in their careers and chose this spot at work to now take it easy. You can't judge others by what you think is important.

You're comparing him to leaders in your firm. Not everyone gets to that level. Some excel, some cruise along, some don't fit in a certain job. Maybe you're trying to make him fit a consultant's profile, expecting him to rock the boat? Not everyone is built for that. I guess that's why our clients hire us?

like

We have plenty of leaders in our firm who have families and can still lead change and create value. I do expect my priorities to shift when I have a family but this guy is really beyond 🙄. It's just hard to respect someone like that.

like

t see this a bit differently. Take age out of it as that may be a gross generalization based on fallacy. I know plenty of people in their 20-30s who are barely contributing. The question is how can you get this client more engaged so they are not a barrier. They should be an active participant but yes still go home at 5.

like

Ugh those lazy types afraid to rock the boat are the worst. And the different priorities excuse is such bs. You can have a happy home life but still be an active and dynamic participant at work.

like

@a1 My point exactly

like

Yeah I don't really agree with that, you can prioritize your family and still do well at your job/be career driven

like

Do the families follow after hitting a certain level and being able to stay home more?

Hm I guess my thought is that he can work a 9-5 but use the time well to still help the project. Just be present for the time you're at the office.

Agree you can definitely balance work and personal life/family. But - not everyone is built that way, I am seeing that. It's not the best situation for us, and with how we expect folks to work. But I've seen this often with a lot of our clients, unless they're the PM or leads in the project. Others are happy with being passive as long as they get their work done - we need to be able to manage those types and work with it.

Goal is to transition into strategy or IT/digital consulting.

From what I have researched so far, my client related work in advertising sounds very similar to a consultant’s day-to-day.

Between client relations, developing brand strategies, analysing data, and implementations, I feel as if I’ve built a career that can easily transfer into consulting.

There is a ethical issue with the Nagarro interview process. Why don't Nagarro make the job interviews aligned to the same level of client interviews. Client interviews in Nagarro is tougher than job interviews. This way Nagarro is increasing the bench strength but then putting extra pressure on the candidates in to find a project. Keep the same standard of the interview for both job and client. This way both will be in a good state of mind.
