Client is looking to hire in-house and asked my opinion. What’s a good salary range for an IP counsel position for 3-5 years experience? Fully remote.

Depends on the region, as well as in-house vs firm, and practice area. IBM was paying me $140K at 4 years in-house in MN (not in the twin cities) to do patent prosecution. I went to a firm on the west coast for a comparable salary, and I'm regretting that. Love the location, but f*cking hate my job/situation. WLB is non-existent, and the cost of living is 30% higher.

I am a 5-6 year IP attorney, I would also look at how much support the attorney would have, but I would think $150-$175K salary is reasonable with some benefits. Unless this is pharma and then it probably needs to be quite a bit higher

I recently made the jump with 6 years of experience to a fully remote IP counsel position from big law. My all in comp (base, bonus, equity) is ~250k.

What does Product Management in the Professional Services practice of a large SaaS company do? Sounded like identifying client professional services needs and developing a service offering for that need; but in my experience most professional service offerings are reactionary, i.e. responding to RFPs. This sounds like creating a service and trying to aggressively sell it to clients that aren’t asking for the service.

My firm recently announced that they were beginning a reservation system for hoteling starting February of 2022 for offices . We were told to clear out our offices by December 31,2022 . The lease is not up for renewal until June 2024 at which point they will look to reduce their office space due to a hybrid work model . My issue is what incentive do I have to make a reservation to go to an office when I can simply continue work from home hassle free. Any Thoughts and comments?
