Project just wrapped (early) and now I’m on the bench between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Just exactly how screwed am I trying to find a new gig before Xmas? Same approach as normal? Any tips?
Client has checked out and dropped all execution on us. We can handle this. What we can't handle is the extra scope that arose yesterday and is due by eoy. How do I get my sm to understand this?
Is it normal for partners to make you write emails for them to clients for sending under their signature? These are emails with legal/strategy advice and not just secretarial emails but it still feels like a big part of my job.
Couldn't get out of bed fast enough today...shower, spruce up, throw on a nice outfit, and set out to make a difference for my client this fine Monday morning! Life is awesome 🙋♂️#Deloitte
Getting $ back from the IRS??? Taking a volunteer job with Legal Aid pro bono. Client assessed from 2014/2015 due to errors in W2. It's already at collections, can I, a CPA, help them get that money back? How likely is that? IRS took like $8k from 2017/2018 refunds.
Already dreading work and waiting for the next weekend. Hate this remote project. Always worried about ratings/utilization/etc. probably not a good sign as a new (>6 month) hire.
Offer for an independent consulting project for 6 months making about 17k/month. I currently make 12k/month with benefits. Lifestyle seems great for the new project too. Want to leave Accenture soon.
Landed in client city at 2 am (coming from west coast) since I take the 4pm to maximize ground time where I'm available to the team. 7 am all alarms in hotel go off to evacuate the bustling. Points?
Just started a new project at Deloitte and got an offer from a competitor on the first day of the project - what is the best way to approach with team? Don’t want to leave the team out to dry.
Have any home owners have done a remodel? I’m on a local project for once in 7 years and would love to get some projects done around the house.
That feeling when your client starts completely unnecessary drama the day after you find out your husband has cancer...💔
I'm going through a layoff at my job. I was a programmer many years ago and have gradually moved to a Project Management role over the years. I don't really like that kind of work and see an opportunity here to reskill a bit. What are thoughts on microdegrees or certificates from the like of Coursera? I have good tech acumen, just wondering if someone would hire in the area of Data Science with one of these degrees. For info: 40s, 20+ years experience, and BBA in Computer Info Systems.
Our team was about to get a new manager but when an exec mentioned her name to the client, the client said she heard bad things about her and would prefer them not on the team. Anyone hear of that b4?
My project team the night before a big deliverable is due. And then we all wake up at 4am to finish #misery #woke
Love when the client sends files over at 5 pm after being a week late and expects them updated now.. there goes my evening
Associate with low utilization lives in Central NJ asked to commute to CT for few weeks to work on a client. "I can't, it's too far." Ok, don't complain when you are 3 rated with no bonus #millenials
Is it better to have high billables (65-80+) reflecting what you actually work during busy season or to barely hit your 55 but be “budget conscious”?
You think they were construct better dining options in Term A at LGA, for the number of business travelers coming through with expense accounts... Give me more alcohol and better food 😑
Is it typical for pwc to request an additional interview with a partner after having already met with multiple people in an in-office interview?
As a Han person from Xinjiang, it hurts to see how people always associate China with CCP and just negative things in general. Ugyhurs are not treated fairly but there is no genocide either. The one child policy was only applicable to Han, all other minority groups have always been able to have as many children as they want. How could you call that genocide? There’re so many factors that play into the problems at China and it’s just not black and white.
What are some of the strangest things you've been asked or required to do as part of a job interview?
I heard a good project manager goes unnoticed when things are running well. We don’t do it for the glory...this is encouragement for all you hustling those gantt charts at 1am.
I’m on my phone constantly during Zoom meetings. I’m on it now with my phone just out of frame. I always just look like I’m really concentrating. I don’t know how I’m going to go back to in-person meetings. All these meetings are so meaningless.
Got terrible feedback from COO after CD & I built a system into a project. We only asked for proofreading and the COO tells us his suggestions are easy but they break the entire system. Any advice?
I have a Roth 401k and I’m looking to pull money out of it to buy an investment property. Has anyone done this ? What’s the pros and cons? Also what’s your view on it?
Final round interview for Facebook Product Marketing, and I’m freaking out. Anyone have any idea how to succeed in the full day interview? TIA 🐠 !!
Recruiter reached out about BoA Merchant Services - Strategy Consultant role......anyone anyone else ever been reached out by that specific business in BoA? I'm wondering if the title actually (cont.)
Hi all, I am trying to plan a vacation spot to celebrate my 5-year anniversary with my wife. Looking for recommendations for the top SPG properties around the world. Thanks for your help!
It is going to be interesting to see the changes to health care plans and associated costs in the upcoming OE given the firms interest in cutting expenses so deeply.
Pick 3 to start - PPR league (1 point per 5 yards, 6 points for TD) 1. Robert Woods 2. Hollywood Brown (I have Lamar Jackson) 3. Stefon Diggs 4. DeSean Jackson (thinking he’s a must start this week) Thanks!
