I'm saying they suggest something and the. You find a way to incorporate it that works strategically and then they claim it shouldn't have been considered in the first place.... and I'm like, well why did you ask for me to make a case for it then?!?

Highlights why account service is much more than saying 'yes' to every client idea - sometimes it's showing them why the idea might not be a good one in order to avoid the kind of churn that ensues otherwise.

Review overall strategy and budget. Does it fit with their goals and objectives? Do they have budget? What is the effectiveness measure of how it will affect the bottom line? Does it make sense to put together a creative brief and proposal? You don't want to dedicate your time and your team's time if it's not feasible...

Depending on what the project and THIS is in each case... I may agree with your client. Too many unknowns

My Senior Manager & Partner are basically “forcing” us to take vacation during the week of 20th Dec and 3rd Jan. They’re saying if we don’t have billable work (even though we’re available to work), we should use vacation days instead of charging time to a GA or PRD code. Is this even legal? I was supposed to go home but can’t because of travel bans. I want to save my vacation days so I can go home in April, not take vacation to sit at home. How do I navigate this?

My firm’s IT (especially system saving and file locating function) is so bad 😐😞 and they keep doing updates no one asked them for just to mess with the stuff we already got a hang of without doing anything about the issues we actually need fixed. Anyone else in a similar boat? Do you bill the client for the time it takes to fix the IT issue (or IT inefficiency generally, like time taken to find a file in a convoluted system)? Or is that supposed to be our non-billable time?

Was talking to the husband about what to do when kid 2 comes, if I'd want to go part time/flexible and keep them both at home while we wait for the pandemic to calm down (kid 1 is currently in daycare). He said he would look into it as well so we could split the time, no reason for one person to take full responsibility. I almost cried lol Ladies!! Talk to your husbands/SOs! Maybe not all will offer that solution on their own but see if they are receptive to the idea if you're struggling.
