Don’t need grinder. Invest in more expensive beans and buy lots of it. Then dedicate just one hour every day to grinding the beans with your own teeth.
This^ Pour hot water directly into coffee powdered mouth. Brewing in any other container will contaminate the flavor/freshness.
Grinding your beans is the best way to seriously boost the quality of your coffee/espresso. There are other "optimizations" but grinding before brewing is major.
Tbh beans are better because most power blends are blended with an additive called Chicory for flavor (my family produces coffee)

Buy a burr grinder not a cheap one. It’s worth it.

Yes, this. I had a cheap cuisinart for years and even at its finest setting, won’t get to espresso levels of fine. Upgraded to the Breville Smart Grinder and it’s been a great piece of kit.

Always pay attention to roast date.
I worked at a coffee shop for 4years. If you buy beans make sure you keep them in an airtight container. Otherwise they lose their freshness after 10days. And ground beans should technically be tossed nightly. But can be used for up to 10days as well.
Buy beans and a grinder. You can go a budget route with the latter and go from there. Some roasters have an espresso roast but otherwise I like medium roast personally.
How are you drinking it? Espresso, americano, latte? Don’t buy preground Folgers lol but I buy the espresso blend from Trader Joe’s and grind in store (pre covid) to espresso grind or maybe a little coarser. It’ll depend on how nice your machine is

You gotta roast your own beans if you want to step up your game. Only half kidding
But don’t overlook your water. Make sure it’s filtered and tastes good at room temp. If your water tastes bad, it doesn’t matter what bean you use, the coffee will taste bad too.
My ex-husband is a coffee/espresso fanatic and we had a grinder for coffee beans, he would not want to buy ground coffee.
I prefer light roasts. Always grind the beans fresh before making your coffee. I almost always do pour overs with the Hario V60.
