Is it acceptable to ask about salary on an informational call with a VP? Or should this be held off until interviews?

Hi fishers, I'm with Tcs since 2014 and it's like 7+ yoe for me but my salary is too low for the experience I have. So I'm now trying to get out of my conform zone and looking for a job change but the problem is everyone is asking for 1 month notice periods where as my current project will never leave me in that time frame. I desperately need a suggestion from you guys to deal with it. I'm missing a lot of opportunities for this reason.

Naive question: How many yearly billable hours are reasonable for a good balance of work and home. I have a young child and don't want to miss out on important moments. I had one firm state that their yearly quota is 1900 hours and I don't have a frame of reference as to whether this is reasonable or if it means 12 hour days. Do Data Engineers generally get much lesser CTC than Data Scientists and Software Developers at Top Product Based companies?

I am only getting 18.5 LPA (including RSUs) at a Top Product Based Company for 4 YOE, whereas many of my peers are getting 24-30 LPA for my experience level at my company. (some even lesser than me)

People are getting much more than me in Devops and Software Development - Both Frontend and backend.

I worked in a company for 15 days and resigned officially. I got Form-16 from the company and salary which I got is half of what is in the Form-16. When I discussed with the company, they mentioned we reserved the difference amount considering 7 days as notice period.

Am I eligible to fight and get the full amount???

Why are developers in digital roles generally paid more like Salesforce, AEM, Informatica etc rather than generic java/.net developers in MNCs?
