Coinbase I wanted to get some thoughts from people on here. I’ve at Goldman for less than a year but Coinbase reached out to interview me for similar role. The role is of an Associate in KYC group. Not sure if it worth pursuing since I have been at Goldman for long. Wanted to get opinion on possible comp and culture if anyone has any information would be greatly appreciated.

Anyone else feel weird that they will likely never make as much as their parents/provide their kids a similar childhood? The odds of making MD/Partner are outright low, and a lot of luck is involved. Statistically it’s likely I’ll fail out around M/SM and peak at that salary forever.

As I prepared to file my notice, the partner of the firm called me and asked me to stay. They’re willing to promote me mid year in December and increase salary next year in August. The current offer I have gives 60% pay increase and Partner still can’t match that offer after promotion. Firm leadership says here I have potential to be a partner in 8 years and talk about all the leadership support I have rn which is fair. Is this one of their tactics to make me stay or should I just leave…

Is it unprofessional, politically incorrect, or a micro-aggression to ask an Indian coworker if they celebrate Diwali? The intention is just to say happy Diwali, but I’m not sure if that’s the same as asking someone their religion, which can sometimes be seen as rude.

What's one company you would never work for?

My nephew just told me he just got rejected/waitlisted by all the ivy leagues despite perfect test scores, APs and ECs. His college counselor told his parents it’s because he’s Asian. That’s ridiculous right? College admission don’t actually penalize because of race - just helps if one is URM? If not, how is this legal?

Does anyone ever feel guilty about how much money they make? Any time Im around friends or family and money comes up, I always try and dip out of the conversation due to me making substantially more.

Would you ever only put your spouse on the mortgage? I financed all our renovations with 0% interest credit cards and apparently it’s dropped my credit score lower than my spouse’s. Our marriage isn’t the happiest, and I’ve paid for so much of the house, but we may get a better interest rate if I’m not on the mortgage.
