Hi All! I am all set to join Infosys from 10th October as a Senior Consultant and they have given us an option of in person or virtual onboarding. With Wipro and TCS incorporating a hybrid model, is there any news that Infosys may also do the same?
My HR had given an option of permanent wfh during recruitment, can anyone currently working at Infosys shed some light on this please!! Infosys

I just cannot imagine the American government sacrificing the health of its citizens in the name of “security”. That would be so out of character for the honest people running things...
You realize you don’t get an x ray, unless you go through the machine your bag goes through. You either go through a metal detector or a millimeter wave scanner (eg the wavelength of the EM is in the mm range, so not x rays)
And yes - it is safe. 30 minutes of flying gives you the same amount of exposure as a chest x ray. You have orders of magnitude more exposure on the flight itself than you do walking next to a properly shielded x ray machine. (Now if you sit on the belt and go through the machine that’s more dangerous...)
There's higher risk of cancer from flying at 30k+ ft every week
There are 3 machines:
1. The x ray machine that your bags go in. You don’t get exposed to any x rays unless you somehow go through the scanner
2. The millimeter wave scanner. These EM waves are in the same part of the spectrum as FM radio waves, which you are exposed to every second of every day and are not energetic enough to be harmful. This is basic physics
3. A metal detector. This works by taking advantage of faraday’s law to see if enough ferromagnetic metal to induce a current in. Since you have no metal in your body this doesn’t impact you. If you did, the impact would be a current induced which would result in an immeasurable temperature increase and a small EM field, which you are exposed to every day all over the place. This is also basic physics.
I’m really not sure what you’re asking for. Do you think scientists do extensive research on well established scientific phenomenon?
2 young guys on my team who beat cancer both were told by their oncologists to choose the pat down to avoid any of the machines
You also get radiation flying as well
You can opt for a pat down
OP, the top 5 Google results all say they're safe. There are certain types of X-ray machines that have been banned since 2013 and are obviously therefore no longer in use that had some slight concerns - maybe that's what's confusing you
D1. How about EY1’s response? A doctor recommended against going through the machines
Lots of doctors have made false claims. There’s no research based evidence in what the doctor EY1 mentioned said
OP, yes it's safe. A quick Google would confirn this
SC1 what are you implying? The gov is evil?
A1. I googled and there are mixed opinions
I googled it too! govt is evil 😈
Is the grammar at the Fishbowl right?
Yes it is risk of cancer. You will die in 5 years. Start drafting your will and make me your beneficiary
Thanks all!
@OP go for the pat down, helps with frisky fridays
Thanks Ey1
As someone who supports TSA and makes recommendations on screening technologies, I can confirm that A4 is correct - there is no threat, accessible property and checked baggage get X-ray screened, people do not.
