BOA Planning for permanent WFH ?? Is that true??
What do you do when you work for a company that has been acquired and everything changes? Everything is remote so there is no in person meetings, we are so busy they have taken all team meetings away and have mandatory overtime. We have lost so many people and I feel that the ones that have stayed are not being appreciated AT ALL! They are not providing ANY type of incentive for the ones who do show up and EVERYONE is getting burnt out. I am looking for another job outside of company.Empower Retirement
Is wfh still available in lti?
Hi All, I am currently in Wipro and have two offers in hand. One from Tata Consultancy and other from DXC Technology . Both are based in the UK. DXC is offering 6percent higher package than TCS. DXC is completely remote job and TCS is twice a week. I am confused which one to go with, haven't heard any experiences of people working DXC. Though the work in both the role is pretty much the same of a Senior back end engineer. Any suggestions experiences will be really helpful for me.

Hey Fishbowl community! I currently work as a Sales Support Specialist with 3 YOE working at a SaaS company. My dream career is to work at Microsoft or Google. I am open to different opportunities that exceed 80k+ per year. I also have a BA in Business Admin. If anyone can refer me to a great remote position I would greatly appreciate it! 😀

You say "color me crazy," and then follow that up with an extremely logical and on point take 😅
You're completely right.

No it will take more social skills. Now u will have to kiss ass across skype and team to make ur boss likes u. Way harder to do than in person. The one that can do it will get all the promotions

Yep I m sure we all have had that in person bonding experience with our bosses. Now that won’t happen anymore, so u have to make ur bosses want to like u Bc of ur amazing personality

We just had mid-year reviews at my company. I started reporting to a new person about halfway through the pandemic. I thought everything was great with WFH. I was cranking out work, meeting deadlines, enjoying flexibility. Turns out my new boss had a huge issue with the fact that I wasn’t communicating enough with him. He wanted to hear more from me. So, it’s not good enough that my work is getting done, now I have to actively communicate with him on everything. The lesson I have learned is that more communication is necessary now than ever.
I honestly think it will take just a much social skill as before. From my experience so far, keeping up communication has been just as difficult if not more so across both internal teams and client conversations. And the only way to stand out to management now is to fully communicate the extent of the work you have done, as they are no longer sharing a room with you for extended periods of time if remote work is the majority of the time spent. Now, will it allow some people to get more work done and shine more easily in that regard? Sure, but the newer staff will also need to be helped out a lot more intentionally from the get-go in order to even start being a functional member of the team.
Seems to be going fine for now but the lack of relationship building will catch up to us in the long run. This is a relationships business.
I’m an anti-socialist and I’m thriving 💪
