Coming across a lot of emails that should have been meetings. I mentally zone out and not read emails beyond 7 to 10 lines.

Instead of writing an email three screen scrolls long, just refine the thought process, get a 15 minute slot and nail it.

Seeing this from both, from clients and colleagues. Anyone else?

This problem is usually the other way around, especially in this environment

Agreed, I rather put some effort into an email with the option for a call.

My calendar on any given day is a nightmare.

like

So, the opposite of this meeting could have been an email?

Nah. Emails, even long ones, give me things to process. I process on my own time. Then we can set a call to discuss if There are open questions.

Good one. I’m a visual person and don’t process long bulky text too well (except, well, when reading contracts). Also my attention span sucks.

like

Honestly I think it comes down to personal thought processing preference. I get a lot of meetings that should have been emails, and I’m better at focusing on written text rather than audio.

like

This is it. Even in this thread, people have very different thought processing techniques. Something about putting my ideas in to solid writing helps me analyze and audit my own thoughts. Others, like Op, are a lot more extroverted and/or visual with their thought process. The important part is being somewhat flexible to both and not being afraid to share your preference. I personally believe both extremes are bad and I do agree with many here that excessive meetings or meetings with low value are a much bigger problem.

Sounds like as you’re a principal, could bring this up to your team.

My team does okay - we have ground rules we try follow. But other service lines we work with, not sure I have time or will to try influence.

Usually I see the opposite problems. Meetings that could have been e-mails

I've been with my gf for almost 6 months now. For context she's still in grad school (we have a 2 year age gap) and I'm struggling to feel physically attracted to her. I have a good job, decent amounts of stress, I like to work out, spend time with friends, and am very outgoing. She's super sweet, kind, sensitive, and brilliant. I find her attractive but I find the fact that she's always up in my business and available to me unattractive. She also just got an amazing job in another state (1/2)

Great question! And without getting too much into monetary policy.... Fed rates are set by the Federal Reserve which banks use to charge each other to borrow money. A lot of times these rates move together, however, a Fed rate increase does not instantaneously change the rates the bank offers.

Other types of savings account have seen an increase this year such as online savings accounts and fixed annuities.

I am retiring from real estate! It's been 40 long years of working in this field and I'm so grateful for everything I've learned. To the young and rising realtors out there: It's definitely worth it, don't give up and eventually things will get better. If you have any questions feel free to ask them!

WWYD? I have always wanted to move to Park City UT, and my parents would like to have a vacation property there. Recently they approached me with an offer to go 50-50 on a $1.3M 3BD/3BA in Park City. I would live there full time and they would have a standing invitation to visit any time they want. This seems like a great option for me from a financial and lifestyle perspective, but I worry about mixing family and business. How do we optimize our chances of this going well for everyone?
