There are so many holiday parties to attend. Any advice on how to make it to many and still be a functional human by the end of the week?

A recruiter for a company that I was excited to work for has ghosted on me (it’s been a week since they have given me updates). I’ve been told that things are delayed bc several key folks are on vacation atm.

How should I approach this situation? Several other companies I’m interviewing with is reaching final rounds, but tbh I’m not as interested in those roles. Plus I’m getting antsy being unemployed for several weeks since I was laid off.

My scenario: Joined a new company in May and I'm taking my 1st PTO (1wk). I normally keep my plans to myself (as my coworkers aren't my friends), but since I'm relatively new and never met my colleagues in-person (due to covid) I'm wondering if I'll seem standoffish.
