Hi Everyone! I have a background in health research. I received my first offer as a ux researcher 3 (1 step below senior) which is pretty competitive compared to my former field. It is with fanduel for 120k base, 6% bonus (8% next year since I’m not starting in jan) , I believe 10% in equity (12.5% next year) total comp 130. I’m extremely grateful but just wanted to see if this was acceptable for the industry. I’m mixed methods and they want to build out their quant side. Should I accept as is?

Will it be harder or easier to get a job meant for winter 2023 grads as a may 2022 grad? Not liking my current job and I’m looking to get something more in line with my career interests. If I were to start in January I would have 6 months of B4 experience.

Curious to hear how other SC commission structures are. Currently at my company we are allowed 1% of every large deal over $500,000, but are capped at a certain amount (cannot make more than $15,000 additional every year). This feels particularly frustrating as I’m working on several million $ deals, but could potentially see only 0.25% of the money I’ve brought in for my business. This is on top of our normal base variable if the company hits their numbers. What are others like?

(Reserve) Unit Transfer Help

ETS in 6 months. Really want to re-enlist for 4 -6 years. Currently in a MOB, and got promoted out of the unit last year June to another unit, did 1-year E5 work during the mob. Finishing up MOB in Nov and got accepted into a cyber unit in which I can progress my career, and want to reenlist for 6 years.


However, the unit I got promoted to insist me to go to them and I'm ETS in 6 months.

Biggest disservice the military (USMC in particular is bad for this, I think) has done for me is give me what I would almost describe as a “fear” of managers, senior managers, PPMDs etc. I know it’s irrational, no manager is gonna act like a salty Ssgt, but I always feel like I’m walking on thin ice.
