Working as due diligence investment strategist in The chief investment office under the Investor Solutions Group. Curious for industry standard for an this type of role in nyc??
Atlanta 🐠 any ideas on FT 500 companies hiring internal consulting/corporate strategy roles in ATL area? I love consulting-type work but travel is killing me. A life outside of work would be #neat
Hello! I see a ton of questions in here about interviewing and getting hired as a PM. I also know that it’s really hard as a manager to hire a great team. I’m the head of product at a growing startup, and just hired two PMs in 3 months. One a career switcher who’d never been a PM before, and one a seasoned principal PM. Whether you are someone who’s interviewing or someone who’s hiring right now, ask me anything!
Just had a final round interviews. Had a good interview with 4 of the 5 interviews. Struggled with the 5th person and case. Anyone here been in a similar circumstance but still got the offer at the end? Always felt to get a final offer everything needs to go well with every interviewer.
Does two years interning and a masters degree warrant skipping a junior planner position as asking for mid? I have held two interns positions that have each lasted a year (wasn’t able to take on full time because of graduate school). But now that I have a degree and two years of experience (I was acting as a junior in both roles) I was thinking about applying for a mid-level position but nervous since I haven’t officially held a junior planner title yet. Thoughts?
Do any of the firms (Big 4/MBB) have a ban on charging strangers for mock case interviews? Heard of some people doing it as a side hustle, but sounds questionable
Would anyone be open to providing a referral for Bristol Myers Squibb or ZS Associates? Thank you.
EY, did you guys have to go through an “offer approval” process after completing interviews? How long did it take? How likely is it that an offer doesn’t come? Was supposed to be done last week
Is anyone else struggling or has struggled to get a Junior Copywriter job? I've been trying for months, but haven't had any success yet. I have a completed Portfolio, yet one common obstacle I keep encountering is that I don't yet have enough work experience to qualify - even for junior copywriter jobs! I'm on LinkedIn constantly, sending messages to CDs and recruiters. Would love to get additional perspectives! I'm wondering if it's just me or if it's all just a part of the process.
What are the chances of me getting an interview at BCG if I applied about a month ago? I’m assuming that means they likely passed on my candidacy?
Hello everyone. I am in the process of applying for green card for my dad. He is in his 70s. Key question I have is: what are his options when it comes to insurance when he gets the green card. Any comments from anyone with experience would be appreciated.
Folks, any advice on applying for jobs at a previous client? As a firm we have great relationships with the senior client leadership and I am afraid that the GEP and my RL will eventually find out when I submit my job application. On the other hand, if I tell my RL prior to applying, I will probably end up towards the top of “people to be laid off” list.
Ok be honest, candidates. I really love this set of questions, I’ve been considering shifting my current interview style to these questions - I think they really give you an idea of who this person would be within the work setting. But the questions almost feel too deep for a recruiter to ask. What would you think if a recruiter took a different path and asked these questions instead of the usual ones? https://blog.shrm.org/blog/9-interesting-interview-questions-that-actually-reveal-a-lot-about-candidat
Does anyone know how 'case studies' are like for data science interviews (industry, not consulting)?
GUT Miami… yey or nay?, seen some good work but heard some not so good things about the culture there
Hey, I have applied to a job at EY for Risk assurance. My academics are pretty good and I'm pursuing ACCA with BCom, with a year of internship experience as well. I have tried to apply but I think a referral would really help. Please dm me for referrals. Would be happy to speak on linkedin as well and send my job ID as well.
What are realistic career paths for BDRs that do not want to be an account executive? I have been a BDR for 4 years now and looking to get out of sales but unsuccessful so far . I’ve interviewed for social media roles, BDR manager roles , always falling short on what they are looking for. Beginning to think I’ll just have to accept a career that I hate that brings me no passion and try for AE role. My ideal role would be in product marketing or social. Any advice?
I am clear-eyed and ready. I am filled with vigor and determination. I have had my mettle tested and have overcome challenge after challenge. I have studied my materials and have trained my mind stronger than ever. I carry conviction in my heart and a smile on my face. Yes, I am prepared to get rejected by MBB once again.
Anyone interested in buying a One Music Fest ticket in ATL? Can give it to you at a discount.
We are having difficulty with managing employee absences. Most seem as if they don’t care about termination. What have others done to motivate hourly employees to come to work? We have changed schedules, offered perfect attendance bonuses, replaced the points system, etc.
In case you never got to see the New York Times article about air quality in classrooms, I’m posting it here for you. It makes some very important points about creating the safest possible environment for students and teachers. 1. Open windows if it all possible 2. Place air purifier centrally 3. Don’t place fans in a way where the air is pointed at people Have a great year and keep yourself and your students safe! https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2021/02/26/science/reopen-schools-safety-ventilation.html
Anybody work at Amazon? Are their offers negotiable? My husband got an offer for a senior position in the VA office paying $120k plus $20k bonus plus 13 shares of stock that vest over 4 years. My husband has ~6 years of experience (2 yrs midsize PA plus various industry roles) so the senior title is low but have heard you have to take a step down in title to work at Fortune 25 companies. He likes the offer but not sure if he should negotiate for more because it’s expected?
How much more expensive is it to live in SF than NYC? On my last round interview at a larger startup based in SF and trying to figure out what level of raise I would need to move.
Do people send thank you notes to interviewers right after interviewing? Have an interview coming up but don’t have everyone’s emails. I was taught to do this. Is this expected?
I have completed my technical interview and HR discussion package everything finalized yesterday with Accenture today when I check the portal it's showing due to their is no immediate Business demand, on - hold Kind of status I could see. What it means then? I have left with only 3 weeks left in my notice period

Any good recommended books on how to build a scalable product and team? I'm looking for recommendations for two areas: 1) in general laying the groundwork in a startup to have the tools and especially processes in place to scale, and 2) tactical focus on building a SaaS project. I've been promoted into a management role from Dev roots, so need to learn more PM processes to be an effective manager in day job, plus would like to start building my own SaaS solution.
