Happy Project Management Day!!

Hello everyone,
I have recently been hired as an Engineer Trainee from campus placements. The Job Description mentions both AI/ML and software development domains. I am more into the AI/ML side, but it seems that the team I am assigned to, is more into the software development side.
Is it possible that:
1. I get tasks on the AI/ML side in my current team?
2. Is there a way to switch to another team which works more on the AI/ML side? And will it be easy?

Only one MBB uses the BA title, you might as well just say McK đ
Iâm in the same boat. Will probably exit after 2yr promo and wonât take the MBA because I donât want to kill myself for 2 more years
OP, if you think you can get into a top B school itâs 100% worth it.
Exiting early is not worth it long term, industry cycles are slow AF.
My MD left as an AP....one of his peers stayed for another year left as a Partner and heâs his MD now.

Depends on what your goals are. Do you mind elaborating on wlb and lack of interesting work? Iâm mostly wondering about what your expectations were.
Having your MBA paid for is absolutely a great deal, but it shouldnât come at the cost of your happiness if this industry is not for you.
I would recommend riding out the 2 years that is typical for a BA. I interview a lot of MBB candidates and fair or not, I at least consider the possibility that they left after 1 year because of performance when I see a short tenure. The exits become materially better if you make it through two years too.
As for the MBA and sponsorship, it depends on what you value. Taking the sponsorship and doing 2+ years is the lowest risk path to a very nice salary and lifestyle. But it won't do anything really interesting or make big money. If you live in a tier 1 city, and accept a higher variance, you can have much more interesting and/or high upside exits into PE, VC, or startups.
I knew several associates and EMs that took the sponsorship and were envious of peers who were rolling the dice at a start up. It was a grass is always greener situation, the guys in consulting made more gaurenteed money but there was no upside if the company succeeds.
Related question to folks: is getting an MBA a US-specific thing? I can't think of many roles where you might need one here in EU

A lot of tech companies look down on MBAs, so if youâre looking into tech roles youâre not missing out
Lack of interest project is also an MBB issue?? Well, it's over. Guess it's time to start search for HG start-ups huh? Lol
