Never seen either of those exits before senior and it’s tough without an mba or ib experience.
I’ve seen people do it at the senior level but it’s been a result of strong networking and some upskilling outside of work on modeling & financial instruments

Venture capital not a shot without ridiculous connections. Business Dev like corp dev? Maybe the last couple years but having been an AAS guy before I don’t see the work as all that applicable.

Well I agree on the FDD point being closer to audit than IB. But the reason the switch to IB is pretty common is because
1. You know some of the deal process and have formatting down for presentations/can handle long hours under pressure
2. Have to have good excel skills it’s just less trial balance manipulation and more modeling in IB
VC is all about being able to find early stage companies and see a future for them and then guide them to it. My friends in large funds come from consulting backgrounds (MBB) not finance. Because the skills of a strategy consultant are much more relevant to guiding a company long term (3+ years) until you can realize the value out of them. Finance people are great for PE and slashing overhead to improve returns on a bought company but that’s much different than taking an idea that still needs some nurturing and bringing to market.
Would say VC has always been about networking
