Commenting on something in someone's zoom background - creepy or okay to do? Example: pointing out the Xmas tree in the background, or a painting on the wall etc

I’ll probably be alone this Christmas and I’ve been living alone during Covid. I’ve been fine and done tons of hobbies but thinking about spending the holidays alone is getting to me. Anyone else feeling this? I feel like telling my family I don’t want to join any zoom things and just skip Christmas this year. I’m mentally exhausted.

IEP, 504, and those without internet will return in-person next week while rest of students remain remote. Regular Ed teachers may have students (mild Learning Disabled kiddos) in their room while teaching. They are saying it’s a liability issue if they have one student in the room with them, even though teaching other via Zoom. Thoughts? Anyone else experiencing this?

I am trying to write a stock letter to send to parents everyday that their child does not come to virtual learning sessions. I have been told by administration that even though I have spoken to parents and know why students are not coming to zoom classes, that we still need to contact them everytime they dont come. For some of my students this is everyday due to parent work schedules and disability issues.
Is anyone else having this trouble? What are you saying to parents to cover yourself?

A female friend of mine recently received a settlement in a sexual harassment action against her employer during mediation. I was recently offered a Zoom interview. The school had 10 interview slots for me to choose from. Three were one day this week and the rest are next week. I chose the first time slot available. I am curious how other inclusion teachers are being utilized when the school is doing remote learning. I find that I am sitting in the zoom class and have very little opportunity to contribute. I am having discussions with my teachers on ways that I can better support them and the students when remote.

Can someone explain how billable hours work? At a new agency and although I had to fill timesheets at my previous agencies, they were mainly used to ensure we weren’t over servicing a client/for setting the appropriate retainer for contract renewals. I asked ppl at my agency but haven’t gotten a proper explanation. I get the impression that billing to the agency admin code isn’t recommended, and my manager said he bills everything to client codes, but that doesn’t make sense to me .

It’s hard to be motivated when rounds of layoffs happen and you see all your friends leave. But one thing that’s gotten me through all of this is working out. And when I say workout I mean the most pathetic, sad, barely completed beginner-level cardio dance routines. I’ve somehow forced myself to move while on lockdown and it’s somehow forced me to feel better. Whatever you’re doing, wherever you are: get up and move even if you don’t finish or end up going on a walk. Pls take care of yourself❤️
