For channel-based messaging, you can't really go wrong with either Discord or Slack. The differences between them are fairly small. For example, Slack is better for professional teams that already exist where Discord is a bit better for discovery. It depends a lot on your community, but if target people who may often have a Discord account anyway, I would lean that direction. Since they'll be on it chatting to friends or hanging out in other servers, they may be more inclined to stay active in your community vs. having to open up a separate app.
Thank you!
I'm a fan of discord since I find it to be a place where people can "hang out". With voice chats, screen sharing and the ability to make friends with other users I feel it can create a more tight-knit community
Thank you so much!
I love using Facebook groups. It's a great platform to build a community because it's easy to use and people are already familiar with it.
Thanks!
I would not use Discord or Slack. Discord can be a bit too juvenile and unsafe, too much shady stuff going on there. I wouldn't use Slack because it's a bit more professional-leaning. How about a subreddit? That could work well!
I would disagree with this one, you can very easily moderate a Discord community and protect it by making it "invite-only".
